Get to know each other
We would like to invite you to an intake so we can get to know each other. The intake is free of charge. During the intake, we assess your language level and we give you advice on doing the civic integration examination or the state examination. We also explain to you how we work and what you can expect from us. Do you want to request an intake, please fill out the form. We will call you as soon as possible.
Civic integration examination or State examination
The civic integration examination is taken at level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference. The level of the State examination is higher. You can do the State examination at two different levels: B1 and B2. So you have 3 options and with all 3 you comply with the rules for integration in the Netherlands. Want to know more? Click here.
Information on the course
You have classes 3 times per week for 2 hours. Having classes means that the teacher explains things to the group and you make exercices together. During the lessons you mainly practice with speaking and listening. You have conversations with the trainer and the other students. You talk about different subjects that are important for integration in the Netherlands.
Next to the 6 hours of classes, you have to spend a few hours per week on self-study. This means that you work in the book without your teacher. For example, you learn new words and you practice your writing. You can also practice on the computer. We have a few computers that you can use. You can come to Taalswitch every day to practice, but you can also do this at home.
The course is not only about learning the language, but you also learn about the Dutch culture. Who is the king of the Netherlands and what is his role? Who is Sinterklaas? What do Dutch people eat and what do you take when you pay them a visit? You learn things that will help you to better understand Dutch people.
We work in small groups with a maximum of 10 students. We want all of our students to get personal attention and we get the best results in small groups. If you think something is difficult, just tell the teacher. The teacher will take time to explain it to you. We monitor your progress and we provide you with extra material if needed. In short, we help you to learn the language.
We offer special packages for integration courses. Everybody is different and one person will learn Dutch faster than the other. During the intake we will give you advice on how much time we think you need to pass the examination. We advice you a package of 6, 12 or 18 months.
- 6 months 1500 euro
- 12 months 2800 euro
- 18 months 4000 euro
The prices include the books and other materials, but exclude the examination fees. The civic integration examination costs 250 euros and the State examination costs 180 euros. Naturally we can help you with applying for the examination.
Taalswitch works according to the standards of the quality mark called ’Blik op Werk’. That means that you can ask DUO for a loan for your Dutch integration course. You can find more information on the website www.inburgeren.nl.
